In a Society that is increasingly face-paced, individualistic, and isolating....cubicles, text messages, and cars all contributing to our compartmentalized , human-contact-void daily existences, I find an excellently refreshing way to reconnect with the world around me by bicycling.

Every trip I make...whether to the grocery store on the corner or my job 5 miles away... I'm guaranteed to receive a peace sign, a wave, a "you go girl", a "hey hottie!!", a thumbs up, a friendly nod, a supportive smile, and even the occasional 20 second conversation with people on bikes or through car windows as we wait at intersections for the light to change.

Hace algunas semanas alguien me preguntó ... "eres ciclista?" Con un imagen de un hombre vestido con un traje de spandex, con músculos de muslo mas grande que mi cuerpo entero, subiendo una colina de 90 grados, a las 2 de la tarde en julio, solamente para divertirse ... respondí "No!"
