Amplify your voice for better biking at a public forum

Connect Atlanta Logo

Bike riders and bike supporters! If you share our vision that the bicycle has an important role to play in the future of Atlanta's transportation system, mark Saturday, July 19th on your calendars. That Saturday from 10-12 ABC and the Connect Atlanta team will present the proposed Bicycle Network, drafted over months of public input to the Connect Atlanta Plan, for your review. This is your chance to learn about the proposed bicycle network and to give planners and city officials your feedback.

Speak out for cycling at upcoming Connect Atlanta Plan meetings

Connect Atlanta Plan

You say you want the powers-that-be to pay attention to bicycling in Atlanta - more bike lanes and paths and full integration of bike routes into a comprehensive Atlanta transit network, for example. Well, here is your opportunity - actually 7 opportunities - to speak out and be heard.

If you care about the future of bicycling in Atlanta, especially bicycling as a transportation alternative, please attend one of the upcoming Transportation Public Meetings for the Connect Atlanta Plan. This will be the city's first master transportation plan and you can be a part of it!

BikeFest 2008 climaxes with choreographed clown-car collision

BikeFest 2008, held Wednesday at Woodruff Park in Downtown Atlanta, concluded with a daring performance, one that launched a wrong-way Charlie the Cycling Clown - known in some circles as Kyle Torok - headlong toward a tempera-coated corrugated-cardboard jalopy piloted by the law-abiding Irene. Ringmaster, Erica Crabb Moon, not only provided play-by-play commentary for the unfolding drama but also graciously rendered assistance to a dazed - but fortunately uninjured - Charlie.

You can see more of this theatrical premier and other photos of ABC's not-ready-for-drive-time players in this photo gallery.

The attached bicycle suitability map, developed by ABC in conjunction with the Midtown Alliance (MTS) and the Downtown TMA, is without a doubt our most popular one. Download the PDF for online viewing, or pick up a pocket-size hardcopy at the ABC office or when we table at a festival or other public event.
