ABC bagels and coffee fuel cyclists on National Bike to Work Day

The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign, along with its steadfast partner, the Downtown Transportation Management Association, offered bagels and coffee to dozens of cyclists, supporters and volunteers from its "Bagel Central" outpost on the Edgewood Avenue bike lane near Randolph Street on Friday to celebrate National Bike to Work Day. Our hospitality was documented by CNN cyclist-reporter, Chris Hrubesh, with his innovative HelmetCam in this video, while we made our own photo gallery record.

Thanks to the the generous support of Highland Bakery and Inman Perk Coffee, bicyclists heading into town had the opportunity to enjoy a free cup of coffee and a bagel as a gesture of our appreciation for the everyday contribution that commuting cyclists make to helping Atlanta's become a healthier, happier place to live and work. As Larry Kloet, a commuting cyclist for about 30 years, remarked in his interview with CNN, we do have ulterior motives, after all, "cycling is a lot of fun!"

Cyclists who didn't have to eat and run were able to enter a Downtown TMA sponsored raffle which boasted prizes that included a $100 gift certificate for Intown Bicycles and a pair of $20 AMC Theatre gift cards.
