Dr. Jim Sandlin is a native of Atlanta, growing up in Clayton County. He's ridden his bike since childhood as a source of transportation and recreation. Jim helped form the Gwinnett Bicycle Users Group, BikeGwinnett, in 1997, and has since worked with the Gwinnett DOT in developing a comprehensive policy for bicycle accommodation. Jim also facilitated ABC's participation in Safe Routes to School as we developed the statewide program for the Georgia DOT.

Jim is currently a general dentist in Lawrenceville, and lives with his wife and children in Duluth. He often commutes to his office and volunteers for ABC as a League of American Cyclists certified League Cycling Instructor. Jim also enjoys working with Boy Scouts and combines his love of bicycling with a love of the outdoors during frequent self-contained tours.
