Tomorrow at 7PM, ABC member Derek will be be teaching an introductory
mountain biking class at REI Atlanta (I-85 Expressway). If you’re a newbie, or
just want to learn more about the sport, this is a great place to start.

Find out what to look for when purchasing a new mountain bike or
modifying your existing one. There will also be a discussion about
gear, clothing, safety, and where you can go riding. We will also cover
basic skills like how to balance, climb, descend, corner, brake, and
get past obstacles. This class is intended for novice riders with
little to no experience. Youth ages 10 and older may attend with an
adult.

Put your foot down. Courteous Mass combines the freewheeling fun of Critical Mass with a focus on following road rules.

Because if we want drivers to share the road, stop at red lights, and give us 3 feet when passing, it strengthens our argument if people who ride bikes follow the rules too.

The first Atlanta Courteous Mass had a great turnout but took a long time to go 10 miles -- this route will be about half as long, but take the same lighthearted yet safety-conscious approach to biking.

If you want to put your foot down for a balanced transportation system, join us August 15th!

Riders will gather at Woodruff Park starting at 6 pm and take off at 6:30.

People new to riding bikes are very welcome.
